Self-care – According to the World Health Organization (WHO)), self-care is the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, and maintain health. Self-care is essential because it enables you to be a more effective person in all areas of your life. When you take time to love, nourish and protect the self, your flourish and function better in multiple areas of your life. Self-care does not require major strategic activities; simple techniques incorporated into our daily lives will assist with being more aware, and productive and sustaining mental wellness. An intentional choice is needed. When a person fails to incorporate routine self-care, they are more prone to increase stress and burnout. Unmanaged stress may lead to burnout.
